Andrew has also tasted international successs with another 3Under player, James Gill, at the Singapore Amateur Teams event. 3Under will be following Andrew's performance closely as he takes on Australasia's best players.
James Gill
James, from Hamilton, was first selected for the New Zealand senior team at age 19 and went on to represent his country more than 20 times around the world including twice at the pinnacle of amateur golf, the Eisenhower Trophy for the world's best amateurs, in South Africa and Australia.
In 2007, he was the strokeplay champion of New Zealand, Italy and Turkey, a feat never before done by any New Zealand amateur golfer. He won six major amateur tournaments in New Zealand the same year. He achieved all this in golf while still studying full time at Waikato University eventually graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Management Studies. Later that year James became the first New Zealander to gain a Royal and Ancient (R & A) scholarship to St Andrews University in Scotland where he gained a Masters in Finance with distinction and graduated in November 2008.
Despite playing little golf, he finished second in the R&A Bursars tournament at St Andrews, led his St Andrews University golf team to win the Scottish title and then finished runner up in the British final. He was fifth in the British Amateur at Turnberry and played solidly in the US during the summer months. James has recently gained entry into the prestigous 2009 PGA Europrotour, regarded as the world's leading developmental tour.
